- IRL V2 Exhaust Valve Controller for BMW B58 / S58 (G80 M3, G82/G83 M4, G87 M2) If you are running or planning to run an IRL catback exhaust alongside these downpipes, the V2 Valve Controller lets you open the factory exhaust valves to 100% on demand rather than being limited by BMW's non-full-open factory valve behavior, giving you complete control over sound and flow from the same brand.
The 400 cell sits in the middle of IRL's three downpipe options for this platform. The 400 cell is the highest-density catted option, retaining more catalyst material than either of the others while still meaningfully improving flow over the factory downpipes. Most street-track builds running a stage 2 tune land on the 400 cell as the right balance of performance and retained emissions equipment. Whatever you pick, a tune is not optional here. Running these without one will give you check engine lights immediately, and more importantly, you will leave significant power on the table since the factory ECU is not calibrated for the change in exhaust backpressure.
